Technical Counterpart (1 Position)/Location : Mae Sot, Tak Province
Location : MAE SOT and MAE LA Temporary Shelters
I. Presentation:
SOLIDARITES, international French Non-Governmental Organization implementing humanitarian activities in Thailand, is recruiting for its programs in Mae Sot for the Mae La Temporary Shelter.
II. Responsabilities:
In collaboration with the Project Manager, the Technical Counter part will:
* Manage overall running of technical activities in and around the Temporary Shelters. This includes drainage works, soil stabilisation, latrine and other sanitation constructions, anti flooding schemes and any other civil works required for the project.
* Select interview and hire all technical staff
* Visit on daily basis regular basis all technical works to monitor progress and evaluate needs
* Communicate orally weekly with internal staff meetings and other external meeting which may take place
* Communicate by written report to coordination team
* Assist Project Manager in all planning of new programme aspects as it may be decided by the coordination team
REQUIREMENTS:
* Have strong knowledge and experience of civil engineering (soil mechanics, small structure design, drainage, water and wastewater management, ground stabilisation)
* Knowledge and experience in soft engineering techniques (anti erosion systems, sedimentation ponds, timber and biodegradable materials)
* Knowledge and experience in IT programmes such as Pack Office, Autocad, Map info
* Must be a civil engineer
* Knowledge of public health and emergency work
* Speak, read and write fluently English and speak Burmese and Karen. Speaking French is a plus
