An international organization is recruiting a number of Operations Analysts and Operations Officers to be part of a dynamic program team working with the Government of Bangladesh to improve the investment climate in Bangladesh. The organization is looking for talented individuals to help develop and implement this exciting and worthwhile new project.

Responsibilities:
* Regulatory Reform Officers/Analysts: In this role you will work close with other team members to provide support to the Government of Bangladesh in the review of the business regulatory framework and the formulation and implementation of regulatory reforms m order to improve the investment climate in Bangladesh.
* You will design, implement and monitor programs that will support the Government of Bangladesh and other stake-holders in the following areas: a) Diagnosis of the overall policy and regulatory framework for doing business in Bangladesh; this will include both existing as well as proposed policies and regulations; and b) Formulation and implementation of programs to reform the regulatory framework and establish a competition policy-law framework.
* You will be expected to have a good understanding of the regulatory barriers faced by the private sector and its impact on business.
* You will be also expected to acquire and disseminate knowledge on global good practices in the area of regulatory reforms that are relevant for Bangladesh.
* Capacity Building Operations Officers/Analysts: In this role you will work closely with other team members to design and implement private sector development (PSD) capacity building and institutional strengthening initiatives with government agencies and civil servants, business associations and civil society institutions such as universities and think tans.
* You will work with these organizations to develop, formalize, and monitor and evaluate new initiatives.
* Experience in the design and delivery of education and training would be a distinct advantage.
* You will also be expected to become familiar with what other countries are doing to help build PSD related capacity, assess their relevance to Bangladesh and disseminate the knowledge widely.
* Economic Zone Operations Officers/Analysts: In this role, you will work closely with other team members in the design, implementation and evaluation of programs that will support the Government of Bangladesh’s new economic zones strategy.
* This will involve support to the formulation of an economic zones policy and strategy development of an adequate legal, regulatory and institutional framework to help implement the policy, and capacity building in existing and new agencies dealing with economic zones.
* An important aspect of the work will be the introduction of innovative arrangements, such as various forms of public-private partnership models and environmental and social management systems in zones.
* You will be expected to acquire knowledge of global good practices in these areas that are relevant to Bangladesh and disseminate this knowledge effectively to our clients.
* Economist/Economic Analyst: In this role, you will work closely with other team members to carry out in-house analytic work as well as design, help implement and evaluate programs to be carried out by various stake-holders, including the Government of Bangladesh, think-tans, chambers and NGOs, Such programs will involve economic analysis of policies and regulations relevant to the investment climate, sectoral studies, studies of the investment climate in various regions of Bangladesh and monitoring of trends in the investment climate.
* You will be expected to have a good understanding of the principles of economics and how they relate to private sector development issues, good knowledge of the economy of Bangladesh and the economics profession, and an ability to bring out the operational implications of economic analysis in order to ensure that the analytic work feeds into policy and program formulation.
Requirements:
* Bachelors degree in Economics or Business, Law, Public Administration, HR and organizational development (Masters degree preferred)
* At least three years work experience in a related field.
* Advanced English language skills with the ability to converse and draft technical documents relating to investment and economics
* Thorough knowledge and use of relevant computer software, such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project), Lotus Notes, Internet search engines
* Pro-active, highly organized and task oriented
* Team-player with good ability to interact with external clients and other units within the organization
* Willingness to work under pressure and after-hours to meet deadlines
* Excellent communications skills in English and Bangla
* A deep understanding of the structure and workings of the Government of Bangladesh , especially as it relates to private sector related ministries, such as B0I, BEPZA, EPB, and ministries of Commerce and Industry
* Basic understanding of procurement policies of donors organizations and Government of Bangladesh desirable
* The analysts/officers will be judged by their results and thus, they will need to establish very early on, indicators of success that are specific, measurable and relevant.
* They will also be expected to produce and monitor annual work plans, budgets and procurement plans.
* The organization works through three pillars i.e., Regulatory Reform, Economic Zones and Capacity Building. We are looking for the following officials for these three pillars.
