Shell Technology India Pvt. Ltd., is a group company of Royal Dutch Shell plc., The Hague, Netherlands. Located in Bangalore, it is the third Shell global centre for technology after Houston, USA and Amsterdam, The Netherlands - delivering advanced technical studies, projects and services for Shell around the world as well as supporting Shell activities in India. The services span upstream exploration and production activities as well as downstream chemical, gas and refinery operations.
Purpose Working closely with our subsurface development teams, this role is responsible for delivering well concept design options followed by detailed technical, economic and financial input to well project plans and/or major well workover activities. Work includes incorporating appropriate technology and supporting the implementation of “Realise-the-Limit (RtL)†processes. This position will be based on local terms.
Responsibilities:
In this role you’ll apply your operational and well design expertise to:
* Deliver detailed fit-for-purpose well designs, including planning, cost estimation and front-end cost management, all optimized for standardization, within economic parameters, and policy/procedure compliant;
* Provide optimized input, consistent with reservoir lifecycle plans and economics, for well proposals with respect to well quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) issues, and cost efficiency;
* Provide input to internal challenge processes (such as peer reviews, value assurance reviews and investment decisions, etc.);
* Support the well program execution stages, including work planning, application of the Deliver-the-Limit (DtL) processes, communication, risk identification, risk mitigation and contingency management;
* Initiate change and champion “best practice†application of appropriate technology solutions;
* Capture learnings and “best practices†with a view to identifying areas for business improvement;
* Continually strive to improve HSE performance and deliver exemplary HSE leadership and management.

* Work in mixed culture teams, sometimes with language challenges;
* Need to be able to work independently and proactively;
* Leading by example, able to be hands-on when required, but also able to delegate and co-ordinate effectively;
* Able to communicate with authority, and motivate others in sometimes difficult work conditions.
Requirements:
* To be successful in your application you must possess at least a higher education Diploma (eg. HND or equivalent), but preferably a Bachelor’s Degree or higher, in a technical or engineering subject;
* You’ll be expected to have more than 6 years’ experience in well engineering, including at least 3 years’ experience as a well design engineer, hands-on field exposure in a Drilling Supervisor role or equivalent, and preferably to have worked as an operational Well Engineer supervising day-to-day well construction program activities;
* Your abilities will include being able to immediately and effectively fulfill any well engineering related task and to achieve assigned objectives with minimal support from the existing well engineering organization;
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a good working knowledge of well engineering software packages, are expected;
* Selected candidates will be encouraged to follow the Shell Group “Round 2†Distance Learning Program with the aim of obtaining this qualification within two years;
* Authorisation to work in India is required for this position;
* A remuneration package based on the conditions in the country of employment will be offered for this position.
