The Institute of Microelectronics (IME) is a member of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). Established in 1991 and ISO-9001 certified, IME’s mission is to increase value-add to the electronics industry in Singapore by engaging in relevant R&D in strategic fields of microelectronics; supporting and partnering the electronics industry; and developing skilled R&D personnel.
R&D at IME covers the semiconductor technology chain, viz integrated circuit design, wafer fabrication process technology, packaging and assembly, and reliability testing and analysis.

Senior Research Officer / Engineer
(Singapore – Science Park II)
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for product development, mechanical design and prototyping of precision devices for micro-fluidic & bio-tech applications
• Work as part of a multi-disciplined R&D team to solve a broad range of mechanical, micro-fluidics and electro-mechanical problems which will transform concepts into manufacturable new products
• Involve in concept design, mechanical detail drawing, liaising with suppliers for prototyping and fabrication, system assembly and testing
• Fundamental understanding of fluidics /micro-fluidics and electronics is desirable
Requirements:
• Degree / Masters / PhD in Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineering
• 3-7 years of experience in product development, design engineering or fabrication of plastic/glass precision devices and/or micro-fluidics
• Familiar with plastic molding process and/or micro-fluidic design and simulation is an added advantage
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Organised, detailed and self-motivated
• Able to work independently as well as be a team player
