OFFSHORE GEO-SURVEYS SDN BHD (OGS) is a Malaysian based and a subsidiary company of Offshore Works Sdn Bhd (OWS). We are focused to provide professional and quality services in the field of Geophysical and Geotechnical services.
The company has established itself as one of the major offshore survey service provider in this region. In line with our expansion we are looking for highly motivated personnel with right qualification and experience to join our present dynamic team. Hydrographic Surveyor
Position’s Goals and Objectives
Responsible for all aspects relating to the operation of the positioning & navigation equipment & software, the interpretation & manipulation of the data supplies, the correctness of the data, its completeness & that it is recorded in a suitable format for the purpose of the survey project. Always maintain the highest order and discipline, safety and dateline requirements expected by the company.
Job Responsibilities
- As a surveyor in supporting site survey, marine construction and engineering survey in the region of south East Asia & Asia Pacific.
- To consistently maintain excellent performance of the services to the International standard and meet Clients’ expectation; To fully understand & set up the positioning & navigation equipment to operate with the set up.
- To undertake and perform the assigned projects with utmost dedication, safety and strictly adhered to the established cost projection;
- To responsible for obtaining & checking the required geodetic parameters in which the survey is to be performed. To ensure that all navigation data is fully backed up to disk in duplicate & that no survey data is left on the computers upon demobilization.
- To compile navigation records for the survey report.
- To calibrate & maintain the survey positioning equipment & tracking equipment prior to the commencement of a survey.
- Any other assignment or task given by the Management.
Requirements for the Position
- Degree in Survey, Geomatic Engineering / Science or related discipline with minimum 3 years working experience in related field.
- Willing to work offshore and travel anywhere within Asia Pacific region.
- Fluent in spoken and written English. Ability to speak other languages will be an advantage.
- Articulate, confident & good interpersonal and communication skill.
- Experience in Oil & Gas industry.
Engineer ; Survey
Position’s Goals and Objectives
Responsible for testing, calibration and maintenance of equipment onshore and offshore as required by the Company and projects. Also, responsible for acquiring & QC all the related equipment accurately and professionally
Job Responsibilities
- Represent the Company professionally and carry out all assignment in a safe and satisfactory manner.
- Responsible for reviewing and understanding project procedures and requirements prior to mobilization.
- Ensure that equipment & software are fully tested, documented and adequately packed for mobilization.
- Ensure equipment are installed, configured and calibrated for optimum performance.
- Responsible for acquiring, calibrating and maintaining equipment to meet Client and Company specifications.
- Perform field operations, maintenance and repairs on equipment.
- Responsible for complete dismantling, packing, documenting and the safe return of equipment from projects.
- Responsible for the safety of all company properties and consumable on projects.
- Produce performance and non-conformance reports on navigation & processing equipment used on projects.
- Perform post project equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Responsible for accurate and complete documentation of project data, daily logs and charge sheets.
- Provide full co-operation and teamwork to ensure projects are completed professionally, safely and profitably.
Requirements for the Position
- Minimum diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic Engineering or any related field with minimum 3 years working experience in related field.
- Willing to work offshore and travel anywhere within Asia Pacific region.
- Fluent in spoken and written English. Ability to speak other languages will be an advantage.
- Articulate, confident & good interpersonal and communication skill.
- Experience in Oil & Gas industry.
Geophysicist
Position’s Goals and Objectives
Responsible for all aspects relating to the quality of the recorded Geophysical data, the completeness of the survey and interpretation of the geophysical records. Also responsible for writing the final report and overseeing the production of charts in coordination with the Party Chief in line with client’s requirement accurately and professionally.
Job Responsibilities
- Represent the Company professionally and carry out all assignment in a safe and satisfactory manner.
- To advise and assist during the installation of the bathymetric and geophysical equipment on the survey vessel.
- Ensure geophysical equipment are installed, configured and calibrated for optimum performance.
- To be responsible for checking that the geophysical equipment is operating to the required standard, and if necessary performing calibration checks. To fully understand the principals of operation
- To oversee the recording of geophysical data and to operate as necessary the on-line graphic recorders to ensure that the equipment remains tuned and the records remain of good quality.
- To observe the recovery of all seabed samples, to analyse, log, classify, test and photograph the samples.
- To review all the on line bathymetric and geophysical records, to identify any anomalies that may affect the suitability of the site, with regard to the purpose for which it has been selected.
- Perform a systematic interpretation of the analogue or digitally processed geophysical record onboard the survey vessel, as may be directed by the Party Chief.
- To carry out a systematic interpretation of geophysical records, produce the necessary text/figures/ tables for the written report, oversee the compilation of charts, and check their final correctness
- Provide full co-operation and teamwork to ensure projects are completed professionally, safely and profitably.
Requirements for the Position
- Minimum degree in Geology/Geophysics or any related field with minimum 3 years working experience in related field. Knowledge in PROMAX is an added advantage.
- Medically fit for Offshore Medical.
- Passes the Offshore Safety Training.
- Willing to work offshore and travel anywhere within Asia Pacific region.
- Fluent in spoken and written English. Ability to speak other languages will be an advantage.
- Articulate, confident & good interpersonal and communication skill.
- Experience in Oil & Gas industry.
