The Australian International School Malaysia is located in the exclusive Mines Resort City in Seri Kembangan. AISM is an Australian curriculum school offering a 100% Australian Junior (age 3), Middle and Senior (age 18) curriculum, where the language of instruction is English. Students follow syllabuses of the New South Wales Board of Studies (Sydney, Australia) with whom the school is registered.
AISM has adopted NSW Teaching Standards and Learning portfolios as part of the Quality Teaching and Learning requirements which are linked to professional learning expectations, appraisals and the implementation of salary bands.
We seek to engage suitably qualified and experienced individuals with a good command of English for the following vacancies:-
Teachers – 2009 STAFFING
- Enthusiastic, committed and qualified teachers needed for Term 1, mid January 2009.
- Australian qualifications, training and experience necessary (minimum 3 years)
- Familiarization with the NSW BOS curriculum preferred.
- Ability to foster independent learning skills and love of learning necessary.
- Ability to embrace change in a growing school environment necessary.
- A commitment to pastoral care and to the teaching of values program expected (including involvement in annual school camps).
- A commitment to be fully involved in the school life of an international community necessary (including cultural events, sport, extra curricular activities etc.).
- Strong organizational and IT skills required for documentation, assessment, reports and student digital portfolios.
PART-TIME TEACHER OF MATHEMATICS AND SCIENCE
The school requires a part-time teacher of Mathematics and Science. The teacher will:
- Be capable of teaching Mathematics and Science in the Senior School (Years 9 to 12 – 15 to 18 year olds) including Mathematics to students studying for the Higher School Certificate (matriculation);
OR
- Be capable of teaching Middle School Mathematics and Science (Years 6 to 8 – 12 to 14 year olds);
OR
- Be capable of teaching Mathematics and Science from Year 6 to Year 12 and, particularly Mathematics to Years 11 and 12.
The position will be 0.6 of a full time equivalent position and will be timetabled over at least three days each week.
