Relationship Manager

Merchant Services is an exciting and dynamic business unit within PayPal and we are looking for a Relationship Manager to accelerate the Merchant Services business in Asia. This exciting role presents an opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging sales environment which is focused on providing PayPal’s range of industry leading solutions to merchants across a number of industry sectors.
The Relationship Manager is responsible for up-selling products and developing promotions to grow our business with the top PayPal merchants in APAC with a focus on Hong Kong. In this effort and in conjunction with Sales, Integration, Marketing and Product, the Relationship Manager will be responsible for orchestrating efforts to drive growth in volume and market share while ensuring unparalleled service levels. Through open and collaborative engagements, the Relationship Manager will focus on building and maintaining successful long-term relationships with our top merchants.
Key Responsibilities
- Build relationships with merchants’ senior management that engenders trust, confidence, loyalty, awareness and mutual benefit
- Work to resolve issues that threaten health of business relationship
- Conduct quarterly review meetings jointly with merchants to conduct look-back and to discuss merchant business objectives and how PayPal can help going forward.
- Learn merchant product pain points and wish list, understand priorities and urgency, and communicate this knowledge to PayPal management
- Keep merchants informed of product roadmap and manage business relationship for any post-launch re-integrations required
- Facilitate meetings with PayPal functional groups (Product, Engineering, Risk, Ops, etc) for learning and confidence building purposes and with PayPal senior management when appropriate
- Work with Marketing on multi-merchant programs and development of collateral
- Sell into merchant, engages Product, Marketing and Sales Engineering as needed, negotiates terms/contract
Identify and pursue opportunities for PayPal to penetrate new properties or channels within an existing merchant or family of merchants
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing or a related field
- 5+ years experience in Sales & Business Development in the eCommerce industry working in dynamic, fast paced & results orientated organizations
- Knowledge of online payment processing, credit card merchant accounts, and the online merchant space is preferred.
- Exceptional consultative sales skills with a passion for PayPal and a hunger to succeed
- Results oriented, self motivated & a “hands on” person with proven ability to meet objectives & targets
- Think creatively and sell strategically
- Proven success record in business development and relationship management.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational, negotiation and presentation skills required.
- Ability to work in a flexible environment and is open to change.
- Self-managing – although the role will see the person interacting with many levels and across several disciplines, it is important that this person be able to manage themselves and be proactive.
- Strong PC skills – especially PowerPoint and Excel
